Two years ago, I was listening to The Wolves (Act I and II) by Bon Iver, and my dad was listening to it with me. It was one of the few songs that he made a point of saying “I really like this, it’s different than what you usually listen to.” In it, there’s a line that goes, “In the morning I’ll call you,” and two mornings ago I woke up to my dad, calling...

You can't beat death. But you can beat death in...
Gonna try and do that for you, Dad.

My dad passed away today.
I feel like my heart is breaking. I’ve never known this kind of pain before. Keep my family in your prayers and thoughts.

I'm on four different medications and still feel...
After the two kinds of anti-depressants (atypical and mood stabilizing), anti-anxiety, and anti-psychotics, I still allow losing my phone to define a day. I hate myself. I don’t have the money to replace this.

I’d meet up with you in, say, London? I’m going to Israel this… This summer…possibly June/July. Meet in London, travel around, go back to London, fly home....

My parents bought me a printer to appease me.
Little do they know that I’m still going to spend my money on Europe anyways.

If I had known that going to this college would...
I’d go to a state school. Seriously considering taking a semester off. This is too overwhelming. All I want to do is backpack around Europe and suddenly my parents are all “Oh, we’re not comfortable with you spending your own hard earned money on something you desperately want to do instead of paying for school.” I am not working thirteen hours a week so that I can pay for...

deus-ex-musica: I am now stealing things from the sub/cellar on a semi-regular basis and tonight she sat through the entirety of Mahler’s 2nd symphony as it was broadcast on TV.  I actually really enjoyed it, too. And c’mon. You’ve already paid for everything, why pay for it twice?

There is a 10% chance that I will go to Europe...
And I’d backpack around Europe with my German friend. The mere prospect is enough to make me giddy.

So I could do graduate school in London...
At Imperial College London. It’d take a year. I’d live abroad for a year. University is cheaper than in the US, and it’d only take a year to earn a Master of Public Health, which is what I want to do…and I’d get to live abroad for a year. And travel around Europe. One year of postgraduate study versus at least two years of postgraduate study in the US…FIRST...
